When was the shang dynasty?

The shang dynasty was the earliest known chinese ruling family .The dynasty governed from about 1766 BCE to about 1122 BCE .Its centre was in what is now known as the northern Henan provence .Shang society,though based on agriculture ,became famous for its fine carvings and bronze work.Most shang relics found by archaelogists come from Anyang ,a city with houses palaces,temples and elaborate tombs.the people of the shang period used bronze to make vessels marble and jade and wove selk .the shang kings were superstitious and consulted 'oracle bones" before making any important decisions.

Where was the great city of the ancient world?

Babylon was the great city of the ancient world.is was the capital of the kingdom of Babylonis and of two babylonian empires.Babylon stood on the banks of the modern city of AL Hillah in Iraq.This location helped Babylon become an important trading post.The city also served as the regious centre of bbylonia: the word Babylon ,means gate of the god
Records first mention about 2200 BCE King Sumu-abum ,the first mention babylonian ruler ,founded a dynasty in 1894 BCE .the best -known king of the dynasty was hammurabi,
who ruled from 1792 to 1750 BCE and won fame for develping a wise fair code of law.

Who where the Franks?

The franks emerged from the ruins of the Roman empire in 476 AD as the dominant people of western Europe. Their leader ,Clovis,extended his hands the river Rhine in Germany through war and by 540 the Franks ruled most of the old Roman province of Gaul( France, named after the Franks).

The first Frnakish ruling family is known as the Merovingian dynasty, after Clovis's grandfather made Paris his capital city. Most of the Franks were peasant farmers, who lived on lands ruled by nobles. They grew food, doing the seasonal tasks of ploughing, sowing and harvesting and also had to fight for their lord when he went to war. The Frankish system of land-holding and service was the beginning of the feudal system in Europe. 

Charlemagne was king of the Franks from 786 to 814, and created a vast empire. On Christmas Day in 00, the Pope crowned Charlemagne Holy Roman Emperor. After the death of Charlemagne the Frankish empire began to break up.
